Title: 1993 - SECOND RECORDING PROJECT: FIRE ROSE CD
Your first born is usually your favorite and so it is with this CD, released in 1993 by Blugraye Productions. We have grown somewhat since then, thank God, but with growth comes new creativity. So much has evolved out of our first CD project Fire Rose, in fact a new musical ensemble named Fire Rose, but that''s a whole another story we''ll get to later. Garialan gave birth to these compositions from his traditional flamenco guitar background, which his biography fully describes. Garialan used the term progressive flamenco to describe his new flamenco compositions long before it was a popular title. But then flamenco music has always been progressive, it is the very nature of the soul of flamenco music, back to it''s very core. Flamenco means more than just a style of music, it was more a way of life for its founders, if you can even trace the beginning. I believe flamenco music preceded the guitar! There are no rules when it comes to flamenco music, and that''s why it''s so popular today. Traditional or progressive, you cannot mistake the sound of flamenco! When I say flamenco has a soul I feel it is the soul crying out in the music saying "Set Me Free", for only the soul "feels" and every one can identify with that in some way. You cannot listen to Fire Rose and not be emotionally affected in some positive way. Garialan composes for the love of the art, not for the commercial world of industry. The very fact that Fire Rose is still being aired on radio stations nationally reflects that very truth.
